This evaluation aim to assess the patient’s mental and emotional well-being to ensure they are mentally prepared for the procedure and the lifestyle changes that come with it. At Vita Nova Sana, the goal of the psychiatric clearance is to identify any potential issues that should be addressed before surgery and to optimize the patient’s overall well-being and sucess in their weight loss journey.
Preoperative Psychiatric Evaluations
The preoperative psychiatric interview assesses a patient’s mental health, emotional readiness, and ability to understand and cope with an upcoming surgical procedure. These evaluations help identify psychiatric conditions, cognitive concerns, or psychosocial stressors that could affect surgical outcomes, recovery, or adherence to postoperative care. We will collaborate with the surgical team and provide recommendations.
